Why I Spoke at the Pine River–Backus School Board Meeting

On October 6, 2025, I spoke at the Pine River–Backus School Board meeting after multiple students reported that a teacher made a classroom remark celebrating and attempting to justify the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

As both a pastor and a graduate of Pine River–Backus High School, I felt compelled to speak, not out of vengeful anger but out of conviction.

When educators celebrate violence or mock students for their beliefs, it damages the very trust schools are meant to build. This moment was about accountability, truth, and consistency, not politics.

Every person, whether we agree with them or not, bears the image of God. Every life has value because it was created by Him and can be redeemed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Below is the full video of my address to the board, encouraging them to uphold what is right and protect the dignity of every student and educator in our care.
